Photo Props, Knits, & Motherhood

For the longest time this pattern sat quietly in my ETSY cart. I have to admit I was a bit (a ton) intimidated by it. I had tried a similar pattern several years ago and it ended in disaster. Not all patterns are equal.

But, after giving myself a pep talk, I decided I really did want to give this a go. It seems this became the hit prop for every newborn photographer over night and I had to jump in on the fun.

I have now made countless of these Sweetest Sleepers and it is one of my favorite patterns to date. If you've been wanting to give this a try do not hesitate to order it. The instructions are so helpful and easy to follow. Also, this pattern can be done in any acrylic or natural fiber. It looks good regardless. Also, the fit of this romper is ALWAYS SPOT ON!!!

The girls are comfy.cozy.warm

It is July in East Texas. The sun is blistering and being outside makes one miserable in seconds. So, of course, I took on a test knit for a winter beanie!

Honestly, I needed a quick knit. I'm busy doing props and working on orders and these test knits allow me to keep my sanity amongst the repetatives of order making.

The Saltwater Kisses Beanie is designed and will be published by Comfy.Cozy.Warm

I will be happy to add a link once the pattern goes LIVE.

This pattern is very easy to follow. I did this while being laid up sick. So, if you need an easy project that doesn't require a lot of thinking and counting...cast this on. You'll be glad you did.

My only modifications was that I did switch to a smaller cast on needle. I used a US 8 instead of US 9. I find that Sofia's head tends to be smaller and she prefers to have a tight fitting hat.

Overall, I'm really please with the texture of this hat. Sofia sure did enjoy playing in it. We put it in her winter stock pile of knits. She'll be the best dressed kid in school come Fall!!!

My ravelry project for this is already listed. Please feel free to check it out if you would like more of my notes and yarn info: https://www.ravelry.com/projects/ahunt1990/saltwater-kisses-beanie

Her golden curls are still my favorite!

It pains me to type this.... my sweet Sofia Michelle turns six next month! Thus, we are in full swing party planning mode. And, no, it hasn't sunk in yet. And, yes, I will be shedding tears.

The Hunt home is currently a hub for all things rainbows and UNICORNS. She has been very adamant about her expectations for this celebration. She wants two things: Pastel Rainbow Unicorns (everywhere) and for all things to be "FANCY".....

Being a Pinterest mom has created a tiny birthday monster. However, she's our only child and will pretty much get what she wants. Don't judge!

Opening her pink package from Love&Lilah

On Thursday a pretty little pink package arrived. Sofia squealed with glee upon seeing it. She couldn't wait to rip it open. I had to bribe her to be patient as I grabbed my camera. I knew that I wanted to capture this smile!

Teonna, owner of Love & Lilah, sent over several unicorn prints for me to look through. They were all beautiful. I did like this one best as I thought it would go well with the rest of her b-day outfit. However, I was not expecting the perfection that we received.

Sofia was thrilled and I was in awe! This is the FANCIEST bow in her collection! It has everything Sofia wanted! It is pink and purple and aqua and you guys it packs a WHOLE LOT OF SPARKLE!!!!

Love & Lilah can be found on Facebook and is extremely pleasant to work with. We will be coming back over and over again. https://www.facebook.com/loveandlilahbows/

Also, I have been able to see more of her work via her VIP group so I encourage you to join as well, your little girls will thank you! https://www.facebook.com/groups/389394778268843/
